The official opening of the distribution and logistics centre was also attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Anke Konrad, who used the opportunity to highlight the following:
“METRO’s decision to open a new logistics facility here in Dobanovci is a tangible example of the strong and dynamic economic relations between Serbia and Germany. As Serbia’s largest trading partner and one of the biggest foreign investors, we want to see Serbia’s economy succeed. This means going beyond the big cities and investing in rural development and a circular economy, which are two priority areas of our economic cooperation. That is why METRO’s commitment here, e.g. with the partnership support program, is an important testament to Serbia’s potential for investment and sustainable economic growth.”
In 2025 METRO marks 20 years of doing business in Serbia, with desire to continue to support business victories of its professional customers in HoReCa sector and small independent traders.
